Magazines
Some background information on the German magazines:
You usually don't read Johnny's name in the popular magazines. This is because there isn't very much to tell. But if there is a chance to throw in Johnny's name, they do. And they do it without foot notes explaining who that guy is. Johnny Winter is still someone you can mention without explaining who he is, as his name is still quite familiar.
In Germany, there are 3 big music magazines, all in the style of the Rolling Stone. They are:
WOM JOURNAL (WOM stands for World Of Music)
MUSIKEXPRESS/SOUNDS (usually shortened to ME/SOUNDS)
The magazine has a system with 6 ******, but usually 5 are best, the sixth * stands for extraordinary recordings. 5 ***** mean: very good; 4 **** mean: good; 3 *** mean: OK; 2 ** mean: weak; 1 * means: bad
