Film plot en Francais: Depuis des centaines d'années, à l'insu du regard des humains, se joue un conflit sans merci entre deux races immortelles et légendaires : les Lycans (loups-garous) et les Vampires. Dans ce conflit ancestral qui perdure encore de nos jours, Selene, une guerrière vampire impitoyable avec ses ennemis, appartenant à la caste des Agents de la Mort, découvre qu'une colonie de loups-garous vivant dans les bas-fonds de la cité s'intéresse de près à un humain nommé Mickael Corvin. Un nouveau tournant dans la guerre que mène les deux espèces depuis plus d'un millénaire va avoir lieu. Film plot in English: For centuries, two races have evolved hidden deeply within human culture – the aristocratic, sophisticated Vampires, and the brutal, feral Lycans (werewolves). To humanity, their existence is no more than a whisper of a myth. But to each other, they are lifelong mortal rivals, sworn to wage a secret war until only one race is left standing. In the midst of this ongoing struggle, a Vampire warrior, Selene, discovers a Lycan plot to kidnap a young human doctor. After shadowing Michael through the city, she forms an unprecedented bond with him, and when the Lycans make their next move, Selene is there to fend off their vicious assault. As she races to save Michael and unravel the Lycan intrigue surrounding him, Selene discovers a secret that has terrifying repercussions for both tribes--a nefarious plan to awaken a new invincible species of predator that combines the strengths of both creatures and the weaknesses of neither, which threatens to tip the balance of power in favor of the werewolves, who have been on the losing end of the struggle for centuries.

A war going on for centuries between vampires and Lycans/werewolves, never seen by humans eyes, until one of the werewolves by the name of Lucian (Michael Sheen) finds out about one human that can bond with vampire blood and Lycans blood, Michael (Scott Speedman). Selene (Kate Beckinsale) is the vampire Death dealer that finds out why the Lycans are following Micheal and falls in love with him. Kraven (Shane Brolly) is the leader of the vampire house after Viktor (Bill Nighy) dies and wants Selene by his side, but she is a wild cat to break.
Vampires and Werewolves have been sworn enemies for hundreds of years. Now fought in a Gothic-like setting, the conflict takes an unexpected and deadly new turn. Selene, a beautiful vampire warrior, uncovers a Lycan plot that could prove fatal for her entire race. She shadows a human, Michael, the Lycan's supposed target. Although she finds herself becoming attracted to him, he becomes infected with the lupine disease during a violent struggle with the Lycan overlord, Lucian, long thought to be dead. Now both sides must decide how to end the conflict and save their species as new and terrifying secrets unearth themselves and threaten their entire existance.

Underworld is an action packed horror movie! I think Kate Beckinsale was great in the film! I really liked her look! Seeing a woman with black pants, black shirt, and a long black jacket that can handle guns and fight with ease is truly an amazing thing to watch! Bill Nighy played Viktor very well! He was fixed up neat with all kinds make up! Kevin Grevioux, who has been in many other films but most recognized in the 2001 version of the Planet of Apes was very good in Underworld! The music is very good in the film and matches its dark nature! The film has a very dark nature and I like the story where Vampires and Lycanthropes fight each other! The special effects look good especially the scene with the moon! Underworld is a decent horror film that takes the two legends of Vampires and Werewolves to a different stage. If you like Kate Beckinsale, these two different factions of monsters, horror, and action then I recommend you see Underworld!
Blade meets The Crow and The Matrix in Underworld, a hybrid thriller that rewrites the rulebook on werewolves and vampires. It's a "cuisinart" movie (blend a lot of familiar ideas and hope something interesting happens) in which immortal vampire "death dealers" wage an ancient war against "Lycans" (werewolves), who've got centuries of revenge--and some rather ambitious genetic experiments--on their lycanthropic agenda. Given his preoccupation with gloomy architecture (mostly filmed in Budapest, Hungary), frenetic mayhem and gothic costuming, it's no surprise that first-time director Len Wiseman gained experience in TV commercials and the art departments of Godzilla, Men in Black, and Independence Day. His work is all surface, no substance, filled with derivative, grand-scale action as conflicted vampire Selene (Kate Beckinsale, who later became engaged to Wiseman) struggles to rescue an ill-fated human (Scott Speedman) from Lycan transformation. It's great looking all the way, and a guaranteed treat for horror buffs, who will eagerly dissect its many strengths and weaknesses
