Film plot en Francais: Celeste Wood est la veuve d'un homme victime d'un tueur fou, qui a également assassiné onze de ses collègues. Elle attaque en justice un des plus grands fabricants d'armes en l'accusant, notamment, d'être responsable de la tragédie, malgré le Second Amendement américain qui autorise chaque citoyen à porter une arme.
La cause de la plaignante est servie par un brillant avocat, Wendell Rohr. La défense dispose d'une équipe d'avocats et de techniciens sans scrupules conduite par Rankin Fitch qui contrôle le déroulement du procès par des oreillettes et des micro caméras portées par les membres de la défense. La défense est prête à tout pour éviter une victoire de la demandeuse, car cette victoire entraînerait une jurisprudence et de nombreux autres procès défavorables aux fabricants et vendeurs d'armes. Two years later, and armed with pro bono attorney Wendell Rohr (Dustin Hoffman), Celeste decides to take the weapon's manufacturer to court, on the grounds that the company's gross negligence led to her husband's death. |
