Biography of Lucy Liu

Lucy Liu was born December 2, 1967, in Queens, New York. Lucy Liu is a sexy, accomplished actress, and most recently played Shanghai Noon in "Charlie's Angels", co-starring Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz. Lucy Liu was raised in the Italian neighborhood of Queens, New York, by her parents, immigrants from China. They raised her in the American way, yet she couldn't help but feel culturally alienated because of her Asian background.

Lucy Liu graduated in 1986 from Stuyvesant High School and went on to attend New York University, where she only stayed for one year. Lucy Liu transferred to the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, and graduated with a degree in Asian languages and cultures while also studying acting, dancing and singing.

Lucy Liu career took off when she auditioned for a supporting role in Andre Gregory's adaptation of "Alice in Wonderland", where she actually landed the lead role. Lucy Liuy's success was partly due to her fluency in Mandarin, and also because of her practice of Kali-Eskrima-Silat, an Indonesian martial art.

Lucy Liu's big break came on Fox's Ally McBeal in the Episode "They Eat Horses Don't They". Lucy Liu took on the icy role of Ling Woo, who was suing a shock jock radio station for sexual harassment. Lucy Liu become really famous in an Ally McBeal episode where Lucy Liu executed a deadly kiss with co-star Greg Germann. This piece of television history is what got her signed as a regular cast member.

Lucy Liu has had many more notable screen appearances, including "City of Industry", Tupac's "Gridlock'd", and "Jerry Maguire". Lucy Liu also had roles on syndicated shows such as Hercules-TJL, X-Files, Beverly Hills 90210, Nash Bridges, LA Law, Home Improvement, ER, NYPD Blues, and John Quest.

Lucy Liu is also a gifted artist. Lucy Liu work first appeared at the Cast Iron Gallery in SoHo in the early eighties. In 1993, she received an art grant to study art in China. Lucy has also exhibited a mix of photography, ceramics, paints, and other art-works in Venice, CA. Lucy Liu is also very athletic, and she enjoys rock climbing, skiing, horseback riding, snowboarding, and is an accomplished accordion player.

Lucy Liu is in negotiations to join Josh Hartnett in the noir gangster film "Lucky Number Slevin," which Paul McGuigan is set to direct. Lucy Liu would play Lyndsey, a sexy coroner who falls in love with Slevin (Hartnett). The film is set amid a conflict between black and Jewish gangsters. Ascendant Pictures, which works closely with the German fund VIP Medien, is financing the film with London-based sales shingle Capital Films. Ascendant's Chris Eberts and Chris Roberts and Kia Jam are producing with FilmEngine's Tyler Mitchell, Anthony Rhulen and Robert S. Kravis. FilmEngine developed the script with writer Jason Smilovic.

Lucy Liu will play a psychologist in the Domino Movie, The story of Domino centers on the daughter (Keira Knightley) of actor Laurence Harvey, named Domino Harvey, who left her lucrative career as a Ford model to become a bounty hunter. While Christopher Walken will portray a reality TV producer. Mickey Rourke will be Domino's bounty hunter boss and mentor, and Jacqueline Bisset will play her mother.

Lucky Slevin News Oct 2004

Bruce Willis and Morgan Freeman have started negotiations to join the cast of the Josh Hartnett starrer Lucky Slevin, formerly known as Lucky Number Slevin, for helmer Paul McGuigan. FilmEngine is producing the project, which is being financed by Ascendant Pictures and Capitol Films. Production will start this December in Montreal.

From a script by Jason Smilovic, Lucky Slevin, set in the world of Jewish and black gangsters, centers on a man who, in a case of mistaken identity, is forced by a gang boss to assassinate the son of his archenemy. Lucky Slevin and Ben Kingsley are also attached to star in the film.

Big names such as Lucy Liu, Christopher Walken, Mickey Rourke and Jacqueline Bisset have joined the cast of the Keira Knightley-starring project, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The story centers on the daughter (Keira Knightley) of actor Laurence Harvey, named Domino Harvey, who left her lucrative career as a Ford model to become a bounty hunter.

Also in talks to star are Dabney Coleman, Delroy Lindo, Edgar Ramirez, singer Macy Gray and Shondrella Avery to play twins Lashindra and Lashandra, and Mo'Nique to play Lateesha.

Mena Suvari recently signed on to play a producer's assistant.

"Man on Fire" director Tony Scott will shoot the film, based on the script by "Donnie Darko" filmmaker Richard Kelly. The New Line Cinema film is shooting in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

Lucy Liu last starred in "Kill Bill, Vol. 1" and is prepping to begin shooting "Lucky Number Slevin" opposite Josh Hartnett. Christopher Walken next stars alongside Michael Caine and Josh Lucas in "Around the Bend," which opens in limited release on Friday, Oct. 8. Mickey Rourke stars in the upcoming ensemble drama "Sin City," based on the popular graphic novels. Jacqueline Bisset 's more recent credits include "Dangerous Beauty," "Latter Days" and "Swing."
