Movie Plot of: Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back is a tale of adventure on the open road. When Dante and Randal (of Clerks fame) get a restraining order to keep the punchy Jay and his hetero life-mate, Silent Bob, from selling drugs in front of the Quick Stop convenience store, their lives are suddenly empty. They find new purpose when their friend, Brodie, informs them a movie is being made featuring two infamous characters based on their likenesses. After visiting one of the creators of the Bluntman and Chronic, Holden McNeil, they set out to get what fat movie cash they deserve and hopefully put an end to people slandering them on the Internet. Along the way, they learn the rules of the road from a hitchhiking George Carlin, ride with a group of gorgeous jewel thieves, and incur the wrath of a hapless wildlife marshal for liberating an orangutan named Suzanne. The quest takes them from New Jersey to Hollywood where a showdown involving the police, the jewel thieves, and the Bluntman and Chronic filmmakers will decide the fate of Suzanne, Jay, Silent Bob, and their good names.

DVD Easter Eggs

On Dimension's Collector's Edition of the zany Kevin Smith comedy 'Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back' you can find an interesting hidden feature that is - like all Kevin Smith hidden features - somewhat eccentric in his very own way. From the disc's Main Menu go to the 'Cast & Crew' section where you highlight the menu entry for Jason Mewes' biography. Then press the 'Up' arrow key on your remote control and the word 'Balls' appears on the screen. If you press 'Enter' now you will get to see a clip of Jason pulling down his pants, showing off some of his usually hidden body parts.

Reviews of the movie: Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back

With sidesplitting dialogue and rampant profanity, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back reunites Kevin Smith's dynamic duo in supreme lowbrow style. It's the fifth comedy in Smith's celebrated New Jersey "trilogy." Here Quick-Stop potheads Jay (Jason Mewes) and Silent Bob (Smith) wreak vengeance on Hollywood, where Miramax is making a "Bluntman & Chronic" feature inspired by J. and S.B., but without their permission. En route from Jersey to La La Land, Jay and his "hetero life mate" encounter sexy jewel thieves (including the delightful Shannon Elizabeth), a precocious orangutan, a dimwit wildlife marshal (Will Ferrell), and a nonstop parade of in-jokes, harmless (yet controversial) gay jokes, and splendid celebrity cameos. While gently biting the Miramax hand that feeds him, and paying affectionate homage to the Star Wars saga, Smith sheds all inhibitions to give Jay and Silent Bob a stellar sendoff that's nasty, sassy, and undeniably hilarious.

The whole world is against them. But they still are awesome.
Kevin Smith has done something not too many filmmakers are able to accomplish. He has directed 5 films in a row, that have been in my mind all funny, often though provoking and just really good movies. This is the fifth movie, the last of his New Jersey series with his always present Jay and Silent Bob, is not the best of his series but it is still possibly the funniest film I have seen this summer. A consistently silly yet laugh out loud fest of jokes and usual one liners from Smith that scores well, even if it doesn't score as well as Dogma or Clerks.

Here, the dynamic stoner duo find out through a weird new invention known as the internet (a place to bitch about movies and swap pornography) that a movie is being made about them, er, they're comic book alter egos from Chasing Amy known as Bluntman and Chronic. They get so steamed they head for Miramax studios in Hollywood to stop the movie. This starts the odyssey that brings up cameos including George Carlin (sick, but still funny), Carrie Fisher, Mark Hammil, and basically most of the stars from the past Smith movies.

This film is like a big inside joke, and if you get it, you'll like it more than others I guess. But it is still funny for anyone who wants a good laugh and is tired of some of the really lame comedies of late. It's a nice, if sometimes a little obscene (not in a bad way), gem. One more note, not only does the movie bring mack many of the past stars of the view askew movies, but it also answers a question: what happened to Jay and Silent Bob after the end of Mallrats. Kudos to Smith and the whole cast.
