Movie Plot of: How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days?
Andie is a writer who works at a woman's magazine but longs to write about something more substantial like politics and the environment but her boss won't let her. Ben works in advertising, and he has suggested to his boss that they go after a diamond merchant, which he agrees but is considering giving to two female employees, Spears and Green, cause he feels that it neeeds the feminine touch. Andie's friend announces at a meeting that she's been dumped, and their boss comes up with the idea of writing an article about how one goes about getting a guy to leave or dump them. Andie agrees to do it on the condition that she be allowed to write what she wants to write and her boss says yes. Now Spears and Green were at the magazine trying to court them to join their agency and hear about Andie's assignment. Later that evening, Ben meets with his boss and the girls and insists that he be allowed to handle the account of the diamond merchant. In the end the girls bet Ben that if he could get a girl to fall in love with him in 10 days, he can handle the account. And the girls pick Andie, who was there looking for her subject, and knowing about her article, they knew that she will do everything possible to turn him off. And she does but Ben endures everything she does, and she finds herself falling for him.

Reviews of the movie: How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days?
"How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days" is a little bit of contempo fluff for the 13-24 demographic which bets heavily on the popularity of the two protags, Hudson and McConaughey. The flick's premise has a built in problem as it requires both protags to act uncharacteristically during most of the run thereby making the superficial character development even more superficial. Sorely lacking the creative department and with nothing going for it save Hudson's over-worked smile and McConaughey's overworked suavity, there's little to praise in this very average romcom which is sure to make broadcast in a heartbeat
Kate Hudson twinkles as the heroine of How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, a magazine writer assigned to date a guy, make all the mistakes girls make that drive guys away (being clingy, talking in baby-talk, etc.), and record the process like a sociological experiment. However, the guy she picks--rangy Matthew McConaughey--is an advertising executive who's just bet that he can make a woman fall in love with him in ten days; if he succeeds, he'll win a huge account that will make his career. The set-up is completely absurd, but the collision of their efforts to woo and repel creates some pretty funny scenes. McConaughey's easy charm and Hudson's lightweight impishness play well together and the plot, though strictly Hollywood formula, chugs along efficiently. At moments Hudson seems to channel her mother, Goldie Hawn, to slightly unnerving effect.
