Young Harry Dunne never really had any friends and he was home schooled all his life until one day when he was 17 years of age, he was going to public high school for the first time. Meanwhile, 17 year old Lloyd Christmas was going to start his senior year, again. His father was the school janitor so he spent alot of time in the basement. One day while heading to school, Harry and Lloyd bump into each other. Literally. Which caused Lloyd to chip one of his front teeth. Harry and Lloyd instantly become chummy and head to school together. Principal Collins was vile and dastardly. He also has frequent relationships with the bubble-headed lunch lady, Miss Heller. Collins was planning a get- away for them in Waikiki and so he was planning to cheat the school out of $100,000. The schools had a program where they would receive $100,000 to start a special needs program for special children. Principal Collins decides to start a phony special needs program and then use the money to go off to Waikiki with Miss Heller. But where to find some "special" students? He chooses Harry and Lloyd who are delightfully taking wedgies from school bully, Turk.

Harry and Lloyd are the only students in the class so they are sent out to recruit more. They find Toby, who has a broken leg, bully Turk, football hot head Carl, foreign exchange student Ching Chong and Ray, the school mascot. Miss Heller got a sub so she and Principal Collins could fool around some more. Lloyd was the sub and he taught the class all he knew, which didn't take very long. At a sleep over at Harry's, Lloyd suddenly developed a crush on Miss Dunne. Harry had his eye on bright girl, Jessica, but Lloyd convinced him that chicks were for fags. Miss Heller takes the whole class on a field trip to the museum and they take a very small bus that Lloyd and Harry figured was just for them. At the museum, Harry admires one of the polar bear statues. He sees Jessica there, who begins to suspect something was up with the special class program so she invites Harry to dinner because she felt he may know something. Harry tried his best to be romantic, but he melted the chocolate bar he brought for her and when trying to clean up, he only smeared it all over the bathroom walls which terrified Jessica's father. Jessica learns Lloyd, being a janitor's son, can get into all the rooms in the school so she can use him to get into the principal's office. She gives him a kiss and Harry sees, so he calls off their friendship.

In the office, Jessica finds nothing but Lloyd finds what he thinks is a treasure chest. Lloyd also discovers Jessica already had a boyfriend. After a bit of convincing, Harry and Lloyd become friends again, and with their class, design a float for the Thanksgiving Day Parade. Lloyd decides to use George Washington crossing the Delaware. What could be more representative of Thanksgiving than George Washington, who invented money. Principal Collins finds his chest gone and suspects suspicious Jessica may have stolen it so he kidnaps her and tries to get her to confess. Harry and Lloyd follow behind in a shopping cart. They arrive at Collins' house after stopping for ice cream then having hot dogs for dessert. Lloyd and Harry find all the files and tapes of Principal Collins planning his evil scheme and the boys take him to be a real hero, so they change their float from George Washington to Principal Collins and at the parade, they play the tape so now everyone knew the truth. Principal Collins and Miss Heller went to jail and after the experience with Jessica, Harry and Lloyd decide to never let a beautiful girl come between them again. Just then, two beautiful twins, Rita and Fraida Felcher arrive.

This movie is actually a prequel to 1994's Dumb & Dumber with Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels. I expected a prequel of that movie to be real stupid, but actually this movie was pretty good. And real funny. Eric Christian Olsen was good as Lloyd. He looked and sounded alot like Jim Carrey, and Derek Richardson sounded and looked alot like Jeff Daniels. Also in the cast were Eugene Levy, Cheri Oteri and Bob Saget. Some funny scenes. Like when Harry and Lloyd nearly freeze themselves when trying out Slushees and match wits with the cashier. They also invent their infamous Tag game. And it was a good idea to show us why Lloyd's tooth was chipped. Jim Carrey's front tooth is chipped in real life, but Eric's tooth was painted. You can tell in many scenes. But anyway, if you liked Dumb & Dumber and want to see what Harry and Lloyd were like back in the day--They weren't much different, then I recommend Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd. It's actually alot funnier than it sounds. So rent it today!
