MATT BIANCO Don't Blame it on that Girl Matt Bianco is a UK band that was formed in 1983. They are mainly known for their success in the mid 1980s and their jazz, Latin-flavoured music. Popular during the mid 1980s in continental Europe, Matt Bianco was part of the new jazz pop genre, that they shared with acts such as Working Week, Sade, Everything but the Girl, and The Style Council. The name suggests that Matt Bianco is a personal name, often referred to the main constant member and frontman, Mark Reilly, but Matt is in fact "a made up spy, a secret agent; we loved spy TV themes and film scores". |

"You're Under Arrest" is the 1985 album recorded by Miles Davis that saw Miles mix pop tunes with political statements about racism, pollution and war. Among other tracks, the album featured Davis' interpretations of two contemporary pop songs: Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time" and Michael Jackson's "Human Nature". During the recording sessions, bass player Darryl Jones introduced Sting to his longtime idol Miles Davis. Sting was startled when Davis asked him if he could speak French, and since he did, to translate the Miranda warning into French and yell it into the microphone against a backing track. |

MINNEAPOLIS GENIUS 94 East History 1977 Recordings 94 East was a Minneapolis-based funk group formed in December 1975 by Pepe Willie, the former husband of Prince's cousin. Willie was one of the people responsible for getting Prince's career up and running, and soon enlisted the talents of a young Prince and his childhood best friend, André Cymone. Prince also composed one song for them, "Just Another Sucker". The band disbanded when Prince became a star in his own right. The 94 East recordings were recorded between December 1975 and February 1979. 94 East was named after Interstate 94. |

Morris E. Day (born December 13, 1957) is an American musician and composer. He is best known as the lead singer of The Time. |
||
Mory Kanté (born 29 March 1950, Kissidougou, Guinea) is a vocalist and player of the kora harp. He was born into one of Guinea's best known families of griot (hereditary) musicians. After being brought up in the Mandinka griot tradition in Guinea, he was sent to Mali at the age of seven years – where he learned to play the kora, as well as important voice traditions, some of which are necessary to become a griot. In 1971 Mory Kanté became a member of the Rail Band, in which Salif Keïta was a singer. Keïta left the band in 1973, leaving Kanté as the singer. Mory Kanté is best known internationally for his 1987 hit song "Yé ké yé ké", which was one of Africa's best-ever selling hits as well as being a European Number One in 1988, making it the first ever African single to sell over one million copies. |
